Как и полагается рождественской комедии, семейные ценности в финале картины одерживают блистательную победу над межпоколенческими противоречиями. Это необходимо, чтобы суставы работали. Каждый родитель хочет, чтобы его дочь была счастлива. Создатели картины справились на отлично, пусть и без особой оригинальности, но зато kraken с душой и смыслом, что безусловно заслуживает похвалы. Но тут сюжет делает изящный разворот, новое па юмористического хип-хопа и мы начинаем хихикать над новой шуточкой тоже весьма сомнительного свойства. Местами непроходимо грубый юмор может показаться тупым, но кто и когда знакомился с родителями жениха/невесты без приключений, шаблонно выстроенный ужас знакомства сменяется управляемой импровизацией, которая заставляет вспомнить опусы еще одного смеходела Джадда Апатоу, много работавшего со Стиллером. Включаю и несколько упражнений из йоги, довольно-таки крутых. Даже пошлости и непристойности Лаэрд говорит с таким милым видом, что невольно хочется улыбнуться. Лэйрд вырос в неполной семье и не получил систематического образования. «Почему он» при всей своей молодежной тематике пытается трактовать на серьёзность. И ради нереального обаяния Джеймса Франко эта комедия стоит того, чтобы ее увидели.
